The Readdie Difference

Education doesn’t need to boring.

One of the most distinctive traits of us Readdies is our relatability. We relate, we adapt and, once we’ve learned something useful, we help others do the same.

We know that every student learns differently. We know that every educator teaches differently. What we do - perhaps better than anyone else - is help students and teachers to adapt, customise, modify, tailor and enhance the curriculum they’re working with. We make it make sense and make it work.

No pretences. No nonsense. No fuss.

…But definitely a wee bit cheeky. 😉

Readdie Education

Building blocks

Years later, Stephen’s big sister, Janie, began working in Special Education.

Beloved by her students as an understanding, approachable and relatable teacher and advocate, Janie has become an impeccably qualified and respected specialist in her field.

The Readdie family has been involved in the planning and delivery of education in Australia for three generations.

Humble beginnings

In Western Sydney in the 1960s, Tom and Shirley’s son, Stephen, needed a school that would cater for his needs.

The couple became heavily involved. Tom helped devise the school’s logo and motto, and dedicated himself to devising innovative methods to help supplement his son’s learning. Shirley became a teacher’s aide at the school.

The future is now

Fast-forward to 2024. It’s a post-Covid world where everyone works remotely or from home and students complete their schooling in much the same way.

There aren’t enough tutors to cover everyone who wants one, and not everyone can afford one anyway. Traditional-style study guides aren’t always enough and most of them are just not what they used to be.

Third Gen

At the other end of the spectrum, Janies’s daughter, Lauren, was identified early-on as a gifted student. Lauren went on to amass a veritable slew of academic achievements, including becoming a teacher herself.

In the mid-2000s, she converted her love of writing, drama, comedy and Shakespeare into a successful business providing specialist, one-on-one tuition to Year 11 and 12 students of all backgrounds, abilities and goals.

Never fear. We got this!

In the coming months, the Readdie Ed Fam will begin rolling out its own range of companion guides, and much, much more.

Our initial focus will be on Year 12 English and Literature for students right across the country, but we will be rapidly expanding into more subject offerings and providing a range of kick-ass online content to help students from all backgrounds and abilities.
